    Course Overview

Advanced Rates is a specialised training course designed to guide participants through the full annual rates management cycle in Western Australian local government.

The course focuses on the practical processes required to prepare, model, and deliver the annual rates function. Participants will gain the knowledge and tools required to confidently undertake rates modelling, manage end-of-year processes, and ensure accurate and compliant rates billing.

Through a series of structured modules, the course walks through the key activities involved in preparing for the new rating year — from modelling scenarios and importing valuation rolls through to closing the rates ledger and issuing rates notices.

This course is ideal for staff responsible for the annual preparation and administration of local government rates, providing a clear understanding of both the legislative requirements and the operational processes involved.
